CRAFTED FOR CURVES
We’re not only about fashion. We are also men and women with
convictions. We’re not only about fashion. We are also men and
women with convictions.
Verseau is founded by Andrea and Loic, partners in life as well as partners in
business. Andrea is from Sweden and Loic from the Central African Republic.
They met 10 years ago at Stockholm University and moved together to France.
Coming to Paris Andrea fell in love with the effortlessly well dressed, Parisian style.
However it wasn’t available to her.
As a “plus-size” woman Andrea always wondered why clothes don’t come in the sizes
women wear. With Verseau Paris, Andrea and Loic wanted to make it easy to dress
well for more body types. The couple want to bring their values of inclusion and
diversity to fashion.
Verseau means Aquarius in French
The name Verseau means Aquarius in French. It’s a star sign we think fits our brand, and it’s also Andrea‘s Zodiac sign. Loic is a bit more balanced.
Clothes shouldn’t break because we like to wear them. This is why, at Verseau, we make clothes with wearability, longevity and comfort in mind. It’s about how you design, who you work with and the materials you chose.
All things deteriorate from use. To minimize wear and tear we pay attention to how clothes break. To prevent seams from ripping by the arm we’ve integrated a stretchy jersey inlay in our blouses that gives comfort and freedom of movement.
To make clothes with attention
To make clothes with attention to such details takes a bit of time and effort. Our European production partner has 40 years of experience making high quality garments, with seamstresses who spend their lives perfecting their craft.
We work with high quality fabrics. Either we select fabrics made in Europe from certified providers, or we work with high-end deadstock fabrics from the most exclusive French Haute Couture fashion houses. We prefer to work with natural fibers such as silk and cotton or sustainable viscose.
